I did some of that in south Florida years back. We started at 4:00 because it was so hot and humid by the mid afternoon you could die. We started before the sun was coming up and quit when the boss decided that it was too risky to keep pushing it. The road crews all worked at right for that reason too. They started around midnight to give the asphalt time to cool. That stuff after sitting in the sun all day would give you a second degree burn if you touched it.
